Due to hurricane gustav, I have been forced to evaccuate from my home in southern louisiana to a town near houston, tx. I was expecting a deilvery from xoticpc this friday, however I can't return home for 4-6 weeks due to extreme power outage and the lack of running water.
Can you guys change the destination of the package so that it will be delivered to my new location in texas? I tried contacting UPS but they said I need to go through the sender to change the destination before the first delivery attempt is made.
The package is in phase four, it has already been shipped. Can you guys contact UPS for me? Or if my shipment is directly from Sager, could you guys pass it on to them?
Thanks in advance. The past few days have been extremely rough for me, so I'd really appreciate the help under these circumstances. My internet access is also quite limited, but I can provide any information needed to any staff member who requests it.

We are sorry to hear of your distress. :( We hope it all gets better for you.
I have attached below a notice from UPS concerning the Hurricane. If you want to change your address please email us at service@xoticpc.com. We can work with you on easily getting the address changed if needed. :)
Hurricane Gustav
UPS service in areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas has been affected by Hurricane Gustav. Much of the Gulf Coast area was under mandatory evacuation orders during the storm, and residents and UPS employees are just beginning to return. UPS pickup and delivery services may be delayed in these areas, and some UPS Customer Center hours may be affected.
Every effort is being made to resume normal service as soon as possible, but the safety of residents and UPS employees within these areas is our primary concern. If you plan to send a shipment, UPS recommends contacting your recipient to make sure they are available to accept the package.
Further updates will be provided on ups.com (http://sdm3.rm04.net/ctt?kn=5&m=2164885&r=MTM0NjA3OTYzMTES1&b=0&j=NTY4MDkzMTMS1&mt=1&rt=0).

There will be no service today in the following ZIP code ranges:
Louisiana

70301 - 70471
70500 - 70598
70704 - 70898

SE Texas

UPS Freight LTL
All UPS Freight Service Centers are open except for the New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana facilities. Some delays may be expected along the Gulf Coast as police and emergency crews clear roads. For information regarding specific LTL freight shipments, customers may call their local service center or Customer Service at 1-800-333-7400.

Alright, thanks. I've seen the service announcement, I spent most of yesterday surfing their website and talking to them on the phone.
If the address is changed mid-shipment, how much longer will I have to wait? I ask because I may be coming back next week, so it would be pointless to change the destination address and the pc not be delivered until after I leave. :D Also, my neighbor who stayed behind has offered to recieve the package for me, but UPS isn't very good at giving us information besides "no service today" so I have no idea how many "todays" we will be without service to LA.
The actual physical location of the package is in Dallas, according to tracking, and I'm near houston. So does the shipment just procede from Dallas to Houston without delay?
So basically, I am asking for your opinion. Would it be best to change the destination of the package or just to let my neighbor get it?
EDIT: UPS responded to me and said there "will be delays" whatever the time frame for those are. Guess I'll be sending you guys that email after all!
Thank you very much Justin. I appreciate your quick and insightful replies. I can tell that you sincerely care about your customers.

Ok, so i have to register an "alternate shipping address" with the credit card company for xotic pc to ship to my current location.
Does anyone know how to do this? I called the number on the back of the card and they claimed they had no idea what i was talking about, and that i had to call a different number. Calling that number yielded the same result, and once more.
Every number i get refered to reffers me to another number.
Who do i call to add an alternate shipping address to my visa credit card?
This is a nightmare.

Is it a debit card or a credit card? I ran into the same problem with a debit card -- there is no way I can tell to do it with one. Your best bet is to do a money order or something if you are stuck using a debit.
