Shame... you would have gotten to hear a big encouraging spiel from Anewbus ;). I guess I will be the first to say congrats today :D. Custom skinning is an awesome feature by the way, you will be very pleased.

I can't wait! :D Something is worrying me though... it's probably nothing, but, when I paid them via e-check (to get the discount of course) I didn't get a receipt in the mail from Xoticpc, just from Paypal. The paypal email says that I paid all my moneys to sales@xoticpc.com - but I remember reading somewhere that the address should have been ebay@xoticpc.com! Did I pay some scammer or do I have nothing to worry about?

In other news, I ordered my Belkin messenger laptop bag for this baby! It was on sale for super cheap on Dell's small business website. ($27+ ship, $34 total) Says it should easily hold a 15.4 and a bunch of acesssories, so we'll see.
Sale is still going on too, fyi. :)

It's on backorder and should ship Sept 22nd, but what do I care? My laptop won't be here before then anyways. :)

Congratulations on the Order. My NP5796 arrived last night. Makes my old 15" Powerbook look so tiny.
In regards to your inquiry, the cash discount is when you use the PayPal e-check. If you used the regular PayPal instant pay method, I do not believe it will count towards the Cash Discount, but you may need to get clarification from Justin, or anyone else via XOTIC. Good luck.

Hey Lanatwo,
Congratulations on your order!!
Here comes that big encouraging spiel OCG mentioned!
All kidding aside though, seriously, you could not have chosen a better place to get your new lappy from and that's not just some insincere sales pitch or something. I'm just a customer, one of a thousand.
XoticPC has the highest rated customer service ever and that is NOT according to that stupid JD Powers thing either, anyone can get one of those for $15. That rating is from real customers. (You can go to the Reseller ratings link and read over 165 comments from customers who have dealt with XoticPC and all of them are good. (Hard to believe, but true. XoticPC has no control over what goes in the Reseller Rating site and I write reviews for various products and services myself on various sites, only products and services I have used of course and I can spot a fake review in under 2 seconds).
Justin and crew at XoticPC are totally dedicated to the customer and they prove it over and over. I was real skeptical at first and called and quizzed them for 3 months before I made the jump and ordered. I'm so glad I did! The warranties alone would have motivated me, but it was really the service I got pre-sales, mid-sales, post sales and continue to get that blew me away. I felt like I was having a boutique experience with all the personal service and everything without the boutique prices or snobbery!
It is that experience and the custom lappy that made me want to join the forums and help out. You just don't see business models like this anymore these days. XoticPC is truly unique.:XPCS::notworthy
Let's see, what did you order there: Ah, I see, the Sager 2096 in a basic config except your also getting a skin done. Nice little machine. I wish I could have moved as fast as you wanted to help you config your machine, but your sudden post and order made it impossible for me to discuss some suggestions with you before ordering. That said though, you'll be happy with your machine, really.:D You should have no trouble with gaming on it with medium or slightly better settings with in the game (depends on what you'll be playing).
One idea I have for you is if you find you need more HDD space, you can either upgrade the HDD in your lappy yourself (very easy) or go out and get an external HDD and plug that in to add to your space.
Oh, if your going to be gaming for long periods of time I suggest getting a good cooler for it as an added precaution and extra piece of mind.
(If it's any comfort, I have a Force 3298v2 with a 2.1 GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 8600 GT w/512MB, 1680x1050 screen and running XP. I can play CoD, MoH, etc with almost everything set on "high"! (I was not even expecting to be able to do that) Your machine is capable of DX10 where as mine is not, so you should be fine. By the way, most games look great at 1280x800 on small screens (anything 19 inches or less) so don't worry about the resolution either.
By the way, the skins look soooooo good!:D:D High quality too and applied professionally! Your going to be delighted when you see your machine!
Hey, if you want to have a laugh, after you get your toy and play with it for a couple of days, go down to your local Best Buy or something and look at what they have on the shelves. I bet you will have a hard time finding anything as nice as your machine. Not just on the exterior, but inside as well. Plus you got it from a place that cares. Sure, you'll see slightly lower prices, but with that lower price comes shoddy craftsmanship, lack-luster customer service if your lucky, enough bloatware to shut the system down, a sales pitch for an extended limited warranty that isn't worth a penny and NO FREE Tech support!
I see you opted for the standard 1 year warranty, but what you get with XoticPC that you don't get elsewhere is FREE 24/7, domestic, live tech support for the life of the machine!
Let us know when you get your machine and most importantly....enjoy it!
If you have any questions going forward feel free to ask.:)

Awww, that's so nice of you. :)
The truth is, that it wasn't really a sudden order! Justin M. will tell you I've been sitting on this one a while. All the chat help and support over the last two months has been super nice, they answered all my questions and more. :) I had a budget of about $1200 and I got everything out the door for $1255, so all in all I'm happy!
I'll be getting a sweet machine very soon! And the skinning was mainly because I'm an artsy fartsy creature of style! I'm having some of my original characters outlined with a vector backround, and my artist friend Carli is doing it for me. (she's at dyani.deviantart.com if you're interested!)
I tell everyone it's an anti-theft measure (and it is, who's gonna steal a pinkish laptop covered in centaurs with 'Lana' written everywhere? Lol.) But I'd really like it to stand out and be unique!

I'll check out your friend's stuff soon. Thanks.:)

I'm a modern artsy person. I would have liked to skin my lappie but I decided to go with guts instead of looks. Plain works for me for now I guess. My lappie will be my constant companion. I'll guard it with my giant six foot eight stature. Nobody messes with Dan the Man, ;) and especially not with his laptop.

Yeah, pretty much like many other folks here, my lappy is my companion as well.
Mine is gaurded by an Egyptian deity whom may put a curse on anyone who tries anything with my lappy.

Haha, I think thats great. made me laugh. What skin did you get on your lappy?
Also they have those locks made for laptops. There wouldn't be much point in one of those because you won't leave it in public out of you're sight anyways right?
I'll teach my laptop to sit, do tricks, and electrocute intruders...
