That is the question that stops me from deciding between the OCZ Extreme and the Sager NP5796. I'm not really interested in the price difference so much as the performance. While Ati surpasses the single 9800, Crossfire issues are still far from being perfected... any thoughts?

My personal opinion is to go with the NP5796 and the Nvidia GPU. I say that because I have been through hell with ATI and their desktop GPU line. They simply don't work. Again though this is only my opinion based on personal experience.

I'm currently running an ATI desktop card (albeit a quite old one) with no problems, but I have had driver issues in the past. I'm not so sure about their mobile solutions, however, I found some benchmarks (http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-9800M-GTX.9919.0.html) you may find interesting.

According to notebookcheck.net, the Crossfire-enabled 3870 scored about 4000 points higher than the 9800 GTX in 3DMark06. I can't speak for the reliability of that website, but it's certainly something you can check out. I'm curious as well as to the difference, as the price of the OCZ with the Crossfire config is a helluva lot cheaper than a comparably-loaded 5796 with a 9800 GTX
