Asus G1S LCD Screen Brightness

I received my Asus about 2 weeks ago and I'm lovin it. One question though, the LCD screen at the maximum brightness is still a little weak. I tried the Fn+C toggling on the "Splendid Video Intelligent Technology" and nothing happens. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Does this " Splendid Video Intelligent Technology " only work with Windows Vista? I have XP Pro. Just wondering if that may have anything to do with it.
