Thank you, Justin for putting this together for us. Since mine is still being built I have little to say at this point other than I can't wait to get my 9262.

I think we need to be able to put up separate posts under these heading otherwise it turns into a thousand page post. With that said, is there a slot loading dvd or bluray drive that can go in the PN9262? I know one would go, but when you look at a picture, the bezel on the drive is slanted to match the contour of the computer. Just wondering since I prefer slot loading drives to tray. Thanks.

I'm curious about various BIOS revisions in the different configurations and if they're all the same. When the last BIOS revision for the P965 motherboard was released and what version is required for the latest CPUs.
My NP9262 is a D900C revision D, shipped Aug. 08, includes BIOS v 6.00
I'm running an E8500 and a 9800M GT
I'm curious about anyone who has a 45nm quad core and also anyone who has the older CPUs like the E6700 or Q6600.
Use CPU-Z to look up your information.

So is the support for the NP9262 coming to an end. Or will there still be future updates for this machine?

^ Well there will be no more 775 CPUs, but that's on Intel. The 280M will work in this but not in SLI which makes it totally pointless..
Going from Vista to Windows 7 REALLY helped performance.

I've had my 9262 for about a year and a half now and I still love it. I'm looking to do some quick and easy upgrades and I'd be interested to hear some suggestions. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan so my parts will have to be mail-ordered online. This is what my rig looks like now:
Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.6 ghz
Nvidia 8800MGTX
4gb RAM
1.2Tb @ 7200 rpm
Whatcha all think? A SSD for the OS and games? A new video card - if so, which one? More RAM - will my mainboard support it? Faster processor? If so, which ones will my motherboard support?
Any help/advice would be appreciated!

How many of us out there actually have a 9262? I feel like the only one sometimes.

Do anyone else's processor cores run hot on their 9262? I've got the Q6600 and the cores are at 55-65C now, and all I've been doing for the past hour or so is browsing the internet. That seems a bit hot to me, but is that normal for the model?
tons of people out there with a 9262, checkout the NoteBookReview.com forums.

Dumb question, but was the "non-upgraded" DVD drive on the 9262 able to burn DL discs?

tons of people out there with a 9262, checkout the NoteBookReview.com forums. What Q6600? G0 or B3? You are running hot for both. The B3 has a thermal spec of 62C which you are past the G0 71C. Not looking good? What does it mean? Nothing really just your CPU won't last 10 years. Also what tells you the temps? If the temps really were critical it would shut down.

Thanks for this thread letting me know what I can upgrade my 9262 as far as video cards go. Shame no 280m SLI support. I wonder if it will be able to support mobile Fermi cards, whenever they might come out.
Question is though, where to buy them? I've not seen them sold separately anywhere. Can't even find on XoticPC's site where to get them.

Ive had my 9262 just over a year. Both fans on both 8800's are dead. I sent a tech support email but my warranty just expired and I will probably have to replace on my own. Any ideas on where and what to replace with?

What is the highest end gfx card that will fit in the np9262? I have two 9800m gt's and was just wondering the limit is on my machine. Peace out.

I'm looking to upgrade my Sager 9260 (Clevo 901c) I bought in May of 2007. The thing is still going strong like a champ, but I feel as if it's time for an upgrade. The biggest reason I bought this laptop was so I could be able to upgrade it in the future.
What options are out there for me? I would like to goto a Quad Core (Intel or AMD does not matter) and at a minimum a NVidia 260GTX if at all possible. I'm looking to bring it up to date. Memory, Hard Drive and everything else is good to go. I just basically need a new MB and Vid Card. I do not desire to SLI Vid Cards either... One is plenty for what I need to do.
What is out there for me??

Interesting info for graphics cards:

Here are some manuals for it. Use the ones for the D90xC PHANTOM-X: (http://www.eurocom.com/products/showroom/specselectnew.cfm?model_id=188)

I am in the same boat as you Bush. Except, I would like to still go SLI if at all possible. Is there any path for us? I have talked to Sager directly so far and they say a new MB is ~$400
I'm willing to fork out a little cash to save from having to get a whole new system. Is there a processor compatibility chart for the 9260/1/2? How about memory. And whats the definitive way to tell which mobo we have?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me what newer mobile vid cards will work with the 9260 and if it would be worth replacing the single 8800MGTX I currently have installed?
I think the GTX 260M and GTX 280M (maybe the 285 as well?) will work, but it seems hard to find and resellers of mobile GPUs. Anyone have any links?
Thanks in advance!
