I'll be so happy and proud when I finally do get this. It's been six days with no update, so it might be longer than the 3-7 days that was projected. I am happy regardless, just very excited. I have been in the military for four long rough years now, and I'll be leaving with a CIB(Combat Infantry Badge), a Purple Heart, and an ARCOMM for valor connected to service, and all the others associated with the job. I have been searching all this time for a laptop that I feel is truly aimed at people like me. Alienware did me dirty while I was deployed, so I stay away from them. I am sure i will be very happy with my purchase.

First, I want to send my sinsere apriciation for your service for this country! I am always humbled by the selflessness and bravery I have seen from our service men and women. You deserve the joys that your new machine will bring you! :) I wish you the best in health, happyness and serious gamming!

Second, Enjoy your new toy! you will be blown away by what these things can do :)

Congrats on the new laptop (and for coming home safely)

Thank you, very much I am both humbled and strengthened by your words. You know it's easy to to serve and believe that the majority appreciates what you go through( months away from family and loved ones, starvation when a mission goes on longer than a week, sleep deprivation because of the nature of a theater of combat operations, the danger of losing life and limb day by day, and the tremendous loss when a fellow warrior falls in battle beside you), but there is such an awesome feeling when it is reinforced by honest people such as you. I am only too happy to go and bring the fight to the enemy, so that honest and legitimate citizens can have the opportunities that made this country famous to begin with. Hopefully, one day soon, I will get to enjoy the rights and opportunities that I've fought so hard to protect.

I got my order yesterday, and I am so happy, with both aesthetics an performance. In my mind, Xotic and OCZ have raised the bar for me. Not only was the ordering and shipping process expedient, but it was very easy to install, and it came with a few bonuses.

I truly wish that someone would sort the videocard drivers out. At this moment, that is the only flaw I can pereive. It is a flaw that is truly holding this rig back, and it should be taken care of with due diligence. The driver needs, optimization and possibly low-level overclocking. That would send this beast over the top.

Any word on a bios update that fixes incorrect voltages?

If you run the 9.2 desktop modded drivers and disable areo in vista, you get very decent performances. And its also very stable, i did not have any crashes in weeks. im getting 12k in 3dmarks06 with a p9500 cpu. Nothing OCed.

Whats the bios upgrade about voltage? curious to hear about that.

If you need help with driver modding, go to http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php (http://www.driverheaven.net) there is clear instructions on how to do it there.

To disable Areo in vista you right-click anywhere on your desktop, select "Personalize" then "Window Color and Appearance" then in there will be a subwindow with Color Schemes, pick the one that says "Windows Vista Basic" instead of "Windows Areo" then apply the changes and your set. I dont know why alot of games crash or freeze with Areo enabled (I beleive its due to ATI drivers, hopefully they will fix that soon).

Very nice man. The voltage threshold divisors are incorrect, which becomes VERY apparent when overclocking or even using an Intel QX9300, even at the default 2.5ghz and with the Quad core patch applied, there is stuttering, both in performance, and in sound, when playing back and even recording audio/video. The video cards and FSB underclock because of these deficiencies. I got 16221 points in 3DMark06 with 8.10 and a mild overclock of the VGA cards. It was a fluke score, and if I could actually overclock the processor, I would have gotten higher. These problems are impeding both intended and advertised performance, for the X9100 and QX9300 owners. It's been months and I'm still patiently waiting, either for a fix, or for a class action lawsuit petition. Which ever comes first.

Verry funny about the lawsuit.

I hate it myself. I am running a qx9300 and i know somthing is not right.

I run desktops that are quad core, and i know what a quad should be doing.

This laptop is not behaveing (speed and responce) like a quad core should.

4gb ram 1333MHz (running on only 1066 due to poor bios)

2 of the 3870 videocard

qx9300

bios is the 28 version.

we need a new bios.
