This looks like a hell of a machine for the price. I'm not familiar with Turbo mode on a core 2 system. What does it do? I assume it's some type of automatic overclock feature. Does it affect the CPU, graphics card, or both?
Can you run a 3DMark06 score on this machine? I'm curious about how the 4850 performs in this test.

I saw a youtube video where somebody was showcasing some stuff about the laptop, I think he said that the turbo button OC'd the CPU from 2.5 Ghz to 2.9 Ghz. I'm not sure if it does more than that.

the turbo button will overclock the CPU when you need that extra performance in games, etc....
You can view my first post which will have the 3DMark 06 scores posted in both non-turbo mode and turbo mode. :)

I am a little confused as to why these ship with 4 GB RAM and Vista 32 by default? Seems like a bit of a waste to have that config, especially with the $120 premium to upgrade to Vista 64. Hmmmm
Otherwise, I looks like an amazing machine

I thought MS offered a free upgrade to 64 bit Vista if you owned a 32 bit licence....Or was that only for XP? I didn't know 64 bit cost more.

At this time we haven't received any news about a quad core version of the GT725 notebook. This model may be exclusive to the European market

You should be able to install windows XP onto this notebook, however, finding drivers for the XP o/s will be the most difficult part. I assume the hardest one to find will be the ATI video card driver.
