Way hey hey!!! New website!:XPCS::notworthy Congrats!!!!!!!
Everything is much bolder, which is great!
I like how the links work and how everything is cross referenced.
The new layout is easier to see and navigate. I love how you have a featured lappy in front and it cycles! Very classy!!!:wink2:
I'm thinking maybe you could have a seperate link or something that gives specific info on skinning and paint jobs so that folks will know what the minimum resolution is for skins and the time it takes for skinning and paint jobs and the rest of the info.
Of course I realize that there seems to be only a few lappy-crazed people like me who take "Xotic" PC to it's ultimate level or literal conclusion and really go "Exotic".(referencing what I had you do for my skin job).
I drank the kool-aid, didn't I.:D:XPCS::notworthy
The only other thing I'm thinking about is the floaty thing in the "Customize" sections. It can get in the way sometimes, but I have not thought of a way to show the prices (Regular and Discounted) without it.
(Then again, I'm not a web programmer).
Enjoying the new site as I drool over the various machines I wish I had (maybe someday).
Noticed the special on the NP5793, WOW!:wideeyed:

Just took a look. I like. I like the new modified logo. I do as a rule find the black/gray crisp and sharp. Sort of classy look.
My only question and the old had the same. Can't you just remove the "Desktop" heading that leads no where?
Yes I do like this logo very much
http://www.xoticpc.com/xoticchops/logo.png Consider putting it at the top of the forums instead of the orange one.

Or better yet, start selling custom desktops again! :D I would say if you started up again by the launch of Win7 I for one would be looking for a new desktop :D

I was wondering about the "Desktops" too. Hmm, while I am used to building my own..... but an XoticPC desktop (with custom graphics option offered on the case perhaps), now that's something to think about!
Ah, just imagining how the new logo would look on shirts and stickers:cool::D

Like the change, but I have to agree with "powerpack" in removing the "Desktop" category option. I think it confuses the consumer leaving hm to wonder if you do sell desktops or not. On the other hand, the black background enhances anything that your showcasing in your foreground. It really makes your products stand out. I like it.

I'm also thinking that perhaps a "direct link" to the warranty info would be good so the customer doesn't have to look in all the links to find it?
Just a thought.:-/:)

Overall I think it is very pretty, will just take a little getting used to. I spend a lot of time just fiddling with configs :P
Only issue I have is really small, when browsing a website I like to be able to open pages in a new tab. Cant really do that on this new website though. Other than that it is very pretty, although I had no issues with the old one actually
I am also really loving these new emoticons on these forums too

Thanks for all your feedback, I greatly appreciate it and your kind words.
We have a Warranty link directly under "Company" in the header of the site for those that want to go directly to the warranty page. We will review some other ideas on placement of this.
I know its been a long time coming but we are going to be back into some desktops in the near future. We plan on launching some in the next 2-4 weeks.
Anewbus - Regarding the floating box. Did you notice you can close the floating box and the totals are also displayed at the bottom of the page?
We plan on having the forums redone to match our website in the next 1-2 weeks.

I was just wondering if a lot of folks would know to click on the "Company" link to get the warranty info. I mean, we "cult members":XPCS::notworthy:laugh: know it, but what about those coming in for the first time just to shop. I was just thinking having a link labled "Warranties" might be easier?
I don't know, I've been known to overthink stuff at times.
Floating box = Well that clears that up. I knew I could close it, but did not know it would still show the two prices when I did so. My bad.
Whats this I hear?!!!! XoticPC Desktops coming soon?!!!!:wideeyed::eek:
Oh no, if they are anything like the lappys here at Xotic, I'm in real trouble!!!:wink2: Why, because I will want one big time and on my budget it's a most difficult task, almost impossible at this point at least. Oh boy, I am wondering if they will have a "drool or jaw-drop factor" like a few lappys in here.:-/
Oh goodness! :XPCS::notworthy

OK since I screwed the pooch with my desktop suggestion? But in fairness how was I too know you guys planned on selling them soon.
I like Anew's comments on warranty. Not that I am certain he is 100% correct. But like him I do feel warranty is very important. As this at this point just suggestions and have not researched yet. Along with Anew's belief warranty is important I also believe the article about who really makes your notebook is also important. I get frustrated when some people say a belief like DeLL or HP is better because they are bigger.
I have spent more hours than I care to think about informing people at other places about the benefit of Xotic vs the "majors" not because I am a salesman for you but because I think what you offer is better for many.
I almost think my thoughts and Anews are not for example a mission statement but critical. My focus of your notebooks being built by the best companies and Anews warranty are major confidence builders. As such I think should be highlighted more.
I know your client base is very smart. Of course they are because they ended up at Xotic? People who end up here have gone beyond the mass media.
Consider a drop down menu that say for example next to the other choices says "Why buy from Xotic"? Right now I see Anew's warranty there and my "who really makes your notebook"?
Anew could write preface to the warranty part. Of course you would have "editorial" control. Sorry Anew but even you admit you go overboard.:D:p:)
These are very abstract ideas but I was once a guy who wanted the best and went to DeLL. I also later went to Gateway but had much more knowledge and made a better purchase. After that I discovered you guys and you do offer so why not share it?
Even though I won't ever get razzed here as an Xotic "fan boy" I have never been razzed on any site for that. I never will be. Why? Well a fanboy lacks substance? Xotic has substance. Highest performance notebooks at the best prices beyond DeLL and HP and better than AlienWare.
Consider Justin.
Overall I think the site looks very sharp!:p

Interesting points Powerpack. Although, I feel I must just mention that warranty is important, but not the sole weight of decision. It's just that Xotic offers the best warranties around as far as coverage. I've been to Dell, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo(hell, my company I work for is a IBM/Lenovo partner)....you name it and I do not see the kind of coverage that Xotic offers. That is why I mention warranty alot to folks, especially if they have concern about how long their lappy of choice will last.
Also, we are talking about lappys here obviously, like an LCD/Plasma TVs, they are not the most rugged creatures no matter who makes them and while I very rarely ever go for "extended warranties" on most things I purchase, even Receivers and such. My research into Laptops and LCD TVs for example show that a "GOOD" extended warranty on such an item as those is wise insurance as they are very sensitive. (Sure a HDD is nothing to replace, but a Motherboard, yikes! You would not want to know what a color rendering circuit board in an LCD or Plasma TV cost). That's my opinion of course, but it's food for thought.
As for "me writing a preface to the warranty section", thanks for the vote, I appreciate it, but I prefer to leave such things to Justin as I think that would be overstepping my bounds. After all I don't "officially work for XoticPC", but I support them all the way and try to help where I can because of all the great (and might I add, rare things these days) that they offer from service to product and more. Just think of the money and frustration they saved me. The lappy I have is my first one and I almost made the mistake of purchasing a "big name" from Best Buy! I shudder to think how much that would have cost me at the end of the day.

I truly meant my comments toward you in nothing but a good way. At least in my mind. We all like Xotic? Correct? I like your ideas but am not going to have a lovefest telling you! I mean unless we start dating? I hope that does not happen? Anyway Anew relax.

The flash on the main page (in the middle) makes my Flash Player 10 to crash, so I have to disable it :(

I have noticed this problem just today when typing xoticpc.com as your URL. If you go to www.xoticpc.com it should work fine. We are looking into this issue.

In my opinion, new design beats previous hands down :)
Made me pause for a good couple of seconds on the home page. Looks great!
P.S.: Is 'Customize Now' pic stretched dynamically, depending on resolution? When looking at it from IE, it looks distorted (FF smoothes the distortion).

Thanks Powerpack. If you read my reply correctly you see that I took your comments as good, don't worry. I just wanted to clarify, that's all.
Uh, no lovefest required, but thanks anyway.

There's some kind of an error on the login screen for me. If I hover the mouse over the login button or hit enter to try and log in, it gives an immediate "invalid argument" error.

We have just tested our website with IE6 and have found there to be some errors with this version of IE. We'll be fixing these errors shortly, so hopefully you will be able to sign into your account from work again :)

I've got to say I'm impressed. The last time I visited XPC a few months ago, it wasn't exactly a terrific website layout. Now, everything is perfectly organized, and I enjoy the new design very much. Definitely a keeper.

Gotta say I love the new look for both the website and the forums, they flow together alot better now (visually) One problem I have run into:
I use IE7 at home and all seems to work well, but at work we have IE6 (WinXP SP2) and the main page dropdowns appear, but are not selectable. Is this a IE6 problem? Flash player problem? (I have Flash 10 on my work machine) It is slightly annoying as that is my main navigation through the site. Any help would be hot :)
Well it would nice o login o check my order status on IE6

Am I missing a hyperlink back to the homepage when in the forums. If there is not one may I suggest the logo in the upper left top corner. I would also suggest as in most other vbulletin forums. How about in the row that includes "User CP" and "FAQ" it starts with "Home" which would link to the Forum mainpage as the logo I mentioned already does. But well if you change as I suggest will need a new one.
Navigation to the Homepage is critical if it does not exist.

justin, just noticed that you still have the np9262 on the home page. you know, on the area where the laptops are featured and changes every 30 secs. don't know what you call that area but i think np9262 needs to be replaced with np9280. =)

The IE6 bugs are nearly complete and should be done next week.
Thanks for your feedback powerpack. We updated the logo in the top left of the forums to go to xoticpc.com.
If you clear your cache the flash image on the home page will update from the 9262 to the 9280. The flash is all XML powered.

2. Can you log in and view your order etc?
