Run 1 was High Settings
Run 2 was Very High Settings
Run 3 was Ultra Settings

All at 1920x1200 OC'd

Very much similar to Asus w90. This one roocks in Medium settings for Crysis whereas W90 is doing slightly better in Very High settings. Now it confuses me again

Looks like there is absolutely no difference in processor speed for Crysis benchmarking, whereas there was an increase in fps for ASUS W90 when the processor is overclocked

ya, i think you posted the wrong image for the stock processor benchmarks...as it is also showing the qx9300...i'm very interested in seeing the stock image as i'm going to be making my order next Friday with a dual core unless there is an extreme difference, then ill spend the extra cash on the 9300

In what way is this "stock"? Q9300, 8 GB of RAM, Vista Ultimate etc...

How about some benchmarks with a p9600 and 4 GB of RAM to be more realistic here?

I have a NP5796 and I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is possible to just upgrade it with the GTX 280M and QX9300? I was looking at a W90 and also a NP5797 but I would rather see if I can upgrade my current machine instead. The X9100 and the QX9300 use the same chipset and the GTX 280M is supposed to be able to swap with the older 9800M GTX right?

How do you OC the CPU with this system? Do you have to use any tools? or is there a "turbo" button to automatically OC the CPU like in some MSI and ASUS laptops?
Sort of new to gaming laptops and don't really now all the features on these so the easier the better for me!:p

I can't answer the GTX 280M questions, but I know the major update for the NP5796 to NP5797 was the support of the quad cores. If memory serves me, the NP5797 has upgraded cooling for the processor compaired to the NP5796. To curb your disapointment, you are running the best dual core which runs current games better than most quads due to the higher frequency :)

Justin might be able to answer the GTX 280M question. physically it should fit as it is the same interface, mobo or bios may restrict the card though.

Well I ended up ordering the Sager NP5797 with the QX9300 and 6GB of ram. I can't wait to see how it compares to my NP5796 with the X9100 and 4GB of ram. The major difference is the GPU and the Proccessor. Instead of running a 9800M GTX I will be running the GTX 280M and instead of a core 2 duo extreme I will be running a Quad Core Extreme. I currently run Crysis at med to high with acceptable frame rates but I'm wondering how much higher I can run that game with the new GTX 280M. I know the quad core kinda limits me with current games but I'm thinking of the future a little bit knowing that games are going the way of multiple threading. Well now I wait to get it on to my ship while on deployment.:D
