You may not find any reviews on the Sager np2098 yet as this product was just added to our website late Wednesday the 13th in the evening. You can check out reviews for the Sager np2096 or Sager np2092 as these models are built on almost the same chassis.

As Justin said. Consider only on paper? What do you want to know? Build will be similar to 2096? Components similar but the GPU jumped up 3 grades? What do you want to know? I am confused post back.

With quad cores starting to become the norm in most systems, i dont forsee this system keeping up with the higher end technology thats comming out built for the quad cores, but any computer can last a relatively long time if you take care of it and dont load it down with a buncha junk you dont use all the time. i built a desktop computer 4 yrs ago for 3k and it is still keeping up with most everything, except for the new programs that need the juice to run em properly, and that computer has 2 dual cores in it, thas regular dual cores but at the time it was a beast, i used it as a small lan party server. its just now starting to feel the ripples of age with the upcomming technology, but thats why i just pre-ordered the sager np9280 so i can upgrade for awhile and it cost me less than when i built a desktop by hand. hope this helps..

OK let's put this in perspective. I looked up a Sager from 4 years ago. If the past is a predictor of the future? Here goes.

Sager NP5320. Also consider this is 5XXX series and you are getting 2XXX series so this was a higher spec'ed line? What was hot 4 years ago.

Intel Pentium M 750
Microsoft Windows XP Home
1024MB (512MB x 2) DDR2 533MHz Dual-channel RAM
80GB 5400RPM Serial ATA Samsung Spinpoint HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon X700, 256MB dedicated GDDR2
15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050) TFT display
Intel PRO Wireless 2915
Intel 915PM Express Chipset
8-cell Li-Ion battery
24X CDRW/DVD drive
Integrated digital video camera
Intel High-Definition Audio (Azalia interface)
4-in-1 Media card reader

OK CPU is 1.86Ghz. So we skipped Core and are now at Core 2 moving to I7 after July. Mobile 915 chipset Sonoma platform, skipped Napa, Santa Rosa and now at Montevina moving to Calpella. This CPU score 476 on Pass Mark CPU bench. My T9400 gets 1,700 and not top of the line. Cannot upgrade past PM.

RAM 1 GB 533Mhz DDR2 Max 2GB's

80GB SATA 1.5 I know it can be upgraded not really a draw back if upgraded.

Radeon X700. 3DMark 06 score 735 a GMA 4500m HD IGP gets 810. Yes I am aware it does better in 3DMark05 2300 but not blazing won't play current and recent past at all or well.

What is my point? You can't beat technology. And while the 2098 will work for more than 4 years it will fall far behind the performance curve. Let me make clear I am not being critical of this model. All models suffer from this. I hope this gives perspective.
