I was recently browsing the Kobalt Computers website, and saw a desktop replacement for sale, much like the Sager NP9280. They offered pretty much the same hardware (more expensive though;)), however I noticed they also give the option to apply Chameleon Paint to your laptop. XoticPC should really offer this, because chameleon paint would look awesome, especially on a laptop :p

What do you guys think?

Would also probably cost as much as a cheap end laptop. ;)

Actually, Kobalt Computers are offering it for around £50 (which is about $70-$90) for the lid to be done I think. And I bet it looks amazing. I'm sure there would be a big market for this.
Here's another vid if anyone's interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLkWgQmcewQ
It's basically paint which changes colour depending on the direction in which it's viewed.
I'd like to get some feedback from the XoticPC Staff :)

Thats not too bad then. As long as the material can hold up well to constant handling it would be neat, though not something I'd probably go for. I trend more towards subtle and plain to avoid calling attention.
Just thought of something. My landlord runs an auto body shop, I wonder if he's ever used something like that before? If he wasn't such an ass I could ask him. :D

If you really wanted to paint a laptop with it, the paint isn't all that expensive or hard to use. I run RC nitro trucks and paint those with color shifting paint. It holds up pretty well, considering its pelted with little rocks, dirt/mud, and surface flexing when I roll my trucks.
Here is a link to the paint I use

Usually pretty cheap too, local auto parts store sells the kits for under $20. One kit should do even the 9280s or W90s with plenty left over.

XoticPC offered custom paint jobs up until this past year, I believe they stopped providing that service because of low demand/high expence.
other than that, yeah, color shift paint is pretty sweet. I'd be hard to miss. :)

Awesome! It looks like the finish on one of my guitars! They call it Mystic Dream, it's a combination of 4 colors, Red, Green, Purple and black...pretty sick!:smile2:
