Hi,

I have recently purchased a NP5797 with the following specs:

Video Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 280M 1,024MB
Ram: ~ 4,096MB DDR3 1066MHz Dual Chan
Processor: ~Intel® P9600 45nm "Montevina" C
Primary Hard Drive: ~ 320GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA II 3
Operating System: ~Windows Vista Home Premium 64-B

Some of the games I run have a stuttering hiccup during the game that I have no idea why it would happen, but I have read somewhere, but no idea where now, that a possible solution could be to update my motherboard's driver.

Could someone tell me which one of these drivers are the motherboard drivers? This is from Sagernotebook.com:

http://74.212.252.103/pages/notebooks/download.cfm?ProductType=5797

And is it normal for me to get around 20 FPS on Crysis on Very High settings with no action around? On high settings, I get around 20-25, and it goes up to 30 when I look up at the sky.

Thanks for any help.

Can you describe the hiccup in greater detail and specifically which games it is happening on, how long, during what scenarios? Is the stuttering a short series of pauses or a consistent but temporary drop in frame rates for a short period of time that sort of comes and goes? Also, do you have any additional hardware plugged in at the time such as a USB mouse (which I would assume)? If so what type of mouse?

What processes and other software are running in the background....such as virus scanners, automatic software updaters, instant message apps, email apps, etc. Try disabling other processes and background apps that you don't need using Windows Defender and see if the stuttering goes away.

This is a new machine so unless there is a specific problem that is addressed by Sager with new drivers it's unlikely this will correct your issue but it always helps to have the latest drivers from the manufacturer.

This is going to sound odd, but are you using an eSATA drive?

I had the same problem and fixed it by using the USB connector on the drive vice the eSATA.

Just an idea.

Have you downloaded the latest video card drivers from nVidia's website (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us)? Also, when you're gaming are you running off the battery or on AC Power?

Is there some setting that defines how many total frames an animation has? Perhaps setting this to 6 insteand of 60 ? - as long as there are not more than 6 key frames?
