UPS isn't exactly a top notch courier in my eyes. Just to add to what I have heard and experienced through them, today my laptop arrived... after sitting ~15 miles from my house for over 3 full days... and the box was beaten up pretty well (dirty, scratched, dented). I was surprised everything worked out of the box besides a few initial start-up errors (so far). You guys do a stellar job of offering top notch gear, do great business with your customers as far as communication, speed etc, and generally seem to take pride in being a superior and smart company. To have all that tarnished in some cases by the unreliability of a chosen third party in the transaction would seem silly to me. IMO, I think USPS standard would be a great option for US residents... they almost never let down with their excellent service . Haha anyway, just had to let you guys know (It's too late for me anyway)... and from all my experience with them I'm sure I'm not the only one?:eeek2:

I could not agree more. UPS is awful! We deal with them everyday at my job let alone times that I have had stuff delivered to me personally. (I went and picked up my laptop from the UPS facility in hopes it would be in good shape and preventing further handling. (That's when I was living near one, now I don't know since moving).
As for damaged packages, UPS is notorious for that! They throw packages around roughly no matter what and if you put a "Fragile" sticker or anything on it they purposely get rougher with it!!! It's a game they play inside the company according to a couple of drivers I have spoken with.
I avoid them when I can, but unfortunately that is not often enough.
The USPS is better at handling the packages, less expensive, but very slow and no tracking.

Same here:biggrin:

UPS sucks. I have received packages with literally dozens of fragile stickers and the boxes's are smacked to hell And if I remember correctly the driver said that in the company some individuals smash the fragile boxes around on purpose.

You heard correctly, they do that! That's why when we ship sensitive stuff we do not put "Fragile" stickers on the box. Xotic doesn't do that either, when I got my lappy there were no fragile stickers, it was double-boxed and the box was fine, no holes or anything. I have received stuff in the past with fragile stickers as well that UPS kicked to hell and back.

Don't you invite your UPS drivers to your Christmas parties? :wink2:

I get stuff from UPS daily and can probably count the issues I've had on one hand after 10 years. Granted, not much of my stuff is fragile though. :eeek2:
