My username is Fault. I have a pretty big list of hobbies and such, but my top ones are I am a black belt in karate, a DJ, and the head of sound for 9 schools. I have three jobs, Pharmacy Technician, DJ, and a Sound Technician. I also do some freelance computer work from time to time. I like to play a lot of video games, Left 4 Dead (fav), World of Warcraft, Counter Strike (Both 1.6 and Source), and once my new lappy gets here, Crysis, which I am pumped for. I also do my DJing from my computer, with a program called virtual dj, plug my turntables into my computer, also I do some photoshop, video editing, and dable into pretty much everything. I am a super moderator on the website www.mmowned.com (http://www.mmowned.com) , which is a site all about World of warcraft hacks, exploits, and cheats. I am 18 years old, and I am currently enrolled at Wayne State University for Pharmacy

Because I am bored, I'll play along:
My username is Anewbus.
Let’s see:
I’m an accountant by trade.
I used to be in the music scene where I have been a Roadie, PR person, Soundman, Lighting Director, Stage Manager and even a Band Manager at one point. (retired from that now as are all my bands)
I also have been in Radio (KSBR) where I was Music Director/Programming Assistant.
I’m an audio/music freak.
Here’s my gear currently: (I recently like listing it because some of it is new within a few months and exciting to me so if I might indulge myself):smile2:
Samsung 40-inch 1080i/p LCD TV (new)
Sony Hi-Fi VCR
Sony Linear Tracking Turntable
Denon 1940ci DVD player (new)
Onkyo C390 CD player (new)
Pioneer 460 DVD Recorder (new)
Onkyo TX-SR 705 Receiver (new)
Kenwood Tape Deck
Panamax 5400 Power Conditioner/Surge protector (new)
Polk CS-1 Center Channel Speaker (new)
Kenwood 140 watt 3-way main speakers Very old but in near pristine condition – still sound great.
KLH Rear surround speakers
Ok, where was I,
I am into Egyptology (study of Ancient Egypt) very much. (Some say off the deep end):D
I am also a “Proper Cook” as my acquaintance Jamie Oliver says. I enjoy cooking.
I am a Percussionist (self-taught), I also try to write when I can and doodle on the synth and guitar although I am not good at either, but they help me write in a sense.
I also enjoy science (Theoretical Physics)
I'm a casual gamer. I like FPS and Golf and wish there were still games like Wing Commander, Megarace and the like that would play on todays systems.:(
Last but not least, I drank all the XoticPC koolaid.:XPCS::notworthy:laugh::biggrin:
I have always built my own desktop PCs after my first one and up until a few months ago, that’s all I had.
My first PC was a 286 XT with 1MB of RAM, a 5.5 floppy, 3.5 floppy, 20MB HDD and a 14-inch B/W monitor!
From there I eventually rebuilt it to include a CD rom drive and a sound card.
Naturally, I kept advancing and build systems from a 386 to 486 to everything in between to today which is an AT format obviously with:
2.64GHz AMD CPU
2GB RAM
250GB HDD 7200rpm
Nvidia GPU (I forget the model, but it has 512MB)
SB Audigy Soundcard
Plextor CD Burner
17-inch flat screen Monitor
Running XP 32-bit SP3
(Right now it has what I suspect is a memory issue and a video driver issue I am trying to resolve).
I am actually on my first laptop, most gratefully purchased from XoticPC!!:XPCS::notworthy:biggrin:
While it is all I could afford at the time, it is my pride and joy:
FORCE 3298 V2
15.4" WSXGA 1680x1050 glossy super ultra clear bright
512MB DDR2 Nvidia 8600GT
Intel Penryn T8100 Proc 2.1 GHz
2GB RAM
Combo Dual Layer Super Multi 8x DVDRW/CD
320 GB SATA 5400rpm HD
Built in 4 in 1 card reader
Built in Intel PRO Wireless 4965 802.11 a/g/n
Windows XP Home SP3
Super special graphics custom skinning:)
Someday I would like to be able to get an even more powerful lappy from Xotic.

Good thread but must give me time to post. I must say Wayne State? My high school girlfriend is a law professor there. I guess if I say her name puts her out not me? Kathy White? Michigan a great state, where I grew up.

Yea, I really like Michigan, but it sucks in so many ways. Detroit, Flint, Pontiac, all some of the worst cities in America. Terrible economy, moron govenor, and the weirdest weather in the entire united states. Seriously how many people have been rained on when there wasnt a single cloud in the sky? I can think of like 4 occassions where its happened lol. But I like it somehow ;-)

this will be my second post on this forum.
I am an old gamer ;-) started off with the Marathon series on the Mac, moved to the PC when the Quake games came out. Bought my first true gaming machine back in 1994 with a Voodoo Rage F2 (AMD FX-53 @ 2.5 Ghz and Nvidia 6800 Ultra) but now it's old stuff and relying on a PS3 to play any new decent games, though hooking this up to a 40" Sony HDTV with the comfort of a nice couch is one fun way to enjoy gaming.
Last completed game: Bioshock on the PS3
Current game: F.E.A.R. 2
Other interests: Wing Chun Kung Fu (some Shotokan karate as my kid is doing it)
Magic (collect books and apparatus on magic)
Wines (nothing like a nice Pinot Noir while gaming)
Minor interests (if I can get my butt to do it):
Guitar (have a 1990 Fender Strat Plus with a Marshall practice amp)
Astronomy (have a 8" Meade SCT)
Why am I here...Voodoopc lost its edge on leading tech for their products when they were bought by HP. Looking at getting a Sager NP9850 as my next gaming rig...think the portability would be nicer and cheaper than another desktop.

Alright, I figure this is a good way to spend my 400th post. I’ll let you all in on a bit of who I am.
Two things you can guess from my username; my name is Rob and I have no sense of creativity:). I’m a 27 yr old civil engineer who works in Buffalo for the New York State Department of Transportation. My wife and I have two young boys who are ALL BOY and quite a handful. They are 3 ½ and 1 ½ yrs old and make every moment exciting.
I love Sci-Fi, Star Wars and Star Trek are some of my favorite shows/movies and especially GAMES. I’m a big fan of Lord of the Rings and play the Lord of the Rings Online religiously. (I play on the silverlode server if anyone is interested in joining me :))
We currently have 4 computers in a house with 2 adults:
A homegrown desktop I built back in 2000 and have upgraded a few times (Pentium 4 3.0 GHz, 2.5 GB ddr2, 2x320 GB HDD, GeForce 6200 O.C.
A Compaq R3000 15” laptop (AMD Athlon XP-M 2800+ 1.6 GHz, 2 GB ddr2, 80 GB HDD, GeForce 420 Go)
And the two Lappys listed in my sig. My wife uses the other two.
I like turn based strategy games and some role play games. I usually get pwn’ed at FPS cause I can never tell where I’m getting attacked from :) I like anything Sid Meiers has touched and anything with star wars or star trek in them.
I plan on getting a new desktop once Win7 comes out and I plan on getting a new netbook once I find one that will handle LOTRO with decent settings.
I’ve done a bit of research into current laptops when I was looking for my NP5792 and have kept mostly up to date on the new techs due to the age of my desktop and its inevitable replacement.
Well that’s all for now I think :)
