Haha man you're persistent on this issue huh. Ok... you want to spend a lot of money getting the best computer you can if I remember. So you need to ask yourself a few questions. A) - How long do I plan on using this computer before I buy a new one? If long... say 5+ years... go quad. If not long... 1-2... it's easy, get a decent dual core. If its somewhere in the middle... 3-4.... go with a high rated dual core (3.0 Ghz+). B) - Am I looking for more gaming or better general performance. This is easy, a decent quad will whoop a dual in general perfomance tasks. A higher dual will do better than a moderate quad core with gaming... letting you utilize the most of your gpu.. currently (as most games don't support quad yet). So to recap... gaming+less time kept = no brainer dual core. General speed+longevity = no brainer decent quad core. In the middle? Well that's your call then. In my opinion... if you're going to get a laptop that can hardcore game, ex 280 or sli280s GPU... and you want to play some intense games... and you have the money to upgrade in 3-4 years from now for even more glory... I would say get a 3.0Ghz+ dual core cpu and you won't regret it. Hope that helps.
