I've noticed that xoticpc has sent one notebook to notebookreview.com.

While I am not aware of what is involved in sending a review unit in, I first read about the NP9280 when it was reviewed when AVAdirect sent it in for a review(and because of the crazy price they wanted, I found xotic), as well as one other model. I personally know dozens of individuals who visit the site and some of my gamer friends wish that there were more boutique/resellers getting reviews and I tend to agree.

So I personally think that if xotic was to send out even 1 notebook every few months to be reviewed, then there would be an increased awareness of them= more sales=$$$$$

That just my 2 cents.

As I understand it, the resellers do not send notebooks for review to Notebookreview. I think the manufactures do that directly. I could be wrong.

No I can't but both XoticPC and PNB have great reputations.

And yes I have heard some of what you ask but cannot confirm.

on ava directs website the reviews of the company are insanely high....someone gave ava direct a low score on the web page due to recieveing a defective notebook...and the score was subsequently deleted saying the comment was "subject to review" and was never shown back on the website... this came from an ava direct customer that i talked to on the nbr forums...(i think)

That's why when it comes to reviews of resellers like the ones mentioned, "ResellerRatings" is a good source because ratings and comments poor or good, can not be deleted or altered except by the poster and the reseller or company can not post. One also can tell who the good ones are by looking at whether or not the reseller is an active member. Example, last time I looked Alienware was/is not an active member. They are on there, but they are marked as non-active = they don't care. On the other side of the coin resellers like XoticPC, Monoprice, etc are active members and have even responded to some postings to resolve issues!
That's why it is good to question posts on companies own websites and one way to verify them is to look at ResellerRatings and other third party places like that. Sure, companies can have their "friends" post glowing comments of praise falsely on such sites, but the general public and customers will always outnumber a few fakers.

ROFL, Thanks Anewbus :DCongrats!

Edit: Oh.. opps sorry this counted as a post?:p Remeber Justin it is better to of loved and lost than to never have loved at all.:D

Anyway I am working tommorow so me thinks the tables may turn. And I will feel the bitter pill of loss.;)

And to all just buy from Xotic no reason to take chances. I have been following these high performance notebooks for long enough. Several have gone out of business. Some looked like slick operations and made the systems look like there own but gone. Others seemed like an honest attempt to try and get in on this. They undercut Xotic but out of business now. I did already mention one other that overall I thinks stands with Xotic but most the rest just end up costing more even if the offered price seems lower ends up higher.

Don't worry your notebook WILL come to you in good shape. If anything is not it won't be the fault of XoticPC, but they will make it right anyway.
