glad to see you guys jumping on this so quickly. I noticed you said "a Full Version of Windows 7" can I assume this is not the Windows 7 Upgrade version that everyone else is offering? Is it really a FULL VERSION?!? if so that really puts you guys above the rest!

Yes it is a FULL Version. :) Unfortunately this is only available on shipments starting today. You can try Microsofts upgrade program and can get a discounted upgrade CD. I hope that helps.

By "shipments starting today" do you mean orders placed today or orders placed previous to today but have not yet shipped? I ordered on June 4th but my laptop is still in production and has not yet shipped.

(Even though I'm an XP forever guy)
Here comes XoticPC raising the bar again!:notworthy "FULL version instead of the upgrade version".

How about for pre-orders? Can I cancel and redo my order again?

I called Justin W today to clarify order vs ship dates for the Windows 7 program, because I also have a notebook on pre-order and was slightly confused between the two posts. Justin said as long as your notebook ships today or after you qualify for the Windows 7. So for those that have pre-orders that have not shipped there is no need to cancel or re-submit your order. Hope this helps.

Justin: Will it be the Home or Pro version of Windows 7?

I am thinking of ordering the Asus N81 notebook, it comes with the 32 bit version of Vista. Will the Windows 7 upgrade be the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version? Can we choose?

I just received my laptop today and wanted to clarify for those still waiting on pre-orders.

First, I ordered June 4 and shipped June 27. Justin said the Windows 7 coupon would be in all orders shipped 26th and after. I did receive a coupon, so it is the ship date, not the order date.

Second, it is a single machine UPGRADE coupon like every other manufacturer, NOT a full standalone version.

Third, the version of Windows 7 you get appears to be identical to the version of Windows Vista on your order. I ordered Windows Vista x64 Ultimate, I got an upgrade coupon for Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

I'm still confused about this whole Windows 7 upgrade coupon.

Maybe its the way it's worded, but do we get a FULL version of Windows 7.. meaning I can wipe my drive(s) and reinstall the whole OS.

or

Do we get only a Windows 7 upgrade, meaning still running Vista and only getting an upgrade to Windows 7? (not Full, but only an upgrade disc)

From what I understand, all purchases (with vista/xp OS) who SHIPS on or after June 26 will recieve a FULL version of windows 7. (on a side note; microsoft has confirmed that you can do a clean install of win 7 from the upgrade version as long as you have an existing Vista/XP product key)

Fallen, if your notebook shipped on or after June 26th you should have got a Windows 7 upgrade coupon in with your owners manual and stuff. If not give Xotic a call. For those who got the coupon and are waiting to order because it's not out yet, you can order now from the Microsoft website and it will be sent to you postage paid by Microsoft when it's available (my shipping estimate was Nov 5th).
