ASUS G51VX-A1 Now Available for Pre Order

We have just launched the G51VX-A1 Laptop. This is our first 15.6" with a FHD WUXGA (1920x1080) Display. This model will feature a 1GB GTX 260M, Dual 320GB 7200RPM Hard Drives and the standard ASUS 2 Year Warranty and 30 DAY ZBD Pixel Warranty.

ETA at this time is the 3rd week of July.

Is the 1080p screen LED based or CCFL? Also, any idea if this revised version still has the ugly transformers cover on the back? Finally, what's the word on the 16" G60? Thanks.

No word on the G60 yet and unfortunately we do not have any pictures of the G50 yet. From what we know at this time it will be a CCFL not LED.

It wouldnt be possible for their to be another version of the G51 to be sold here would it? All I want is a slightly upgraded version of the BB G51 for a reasonable price, and then the A1 comes out and disappoints me...

I am sorry but the channel version (as we normally sell) will likely be the cheapest one we get. BB usually gets the lower end downgraded version.

Its the third week. Any news or ETA updates? I ordered this not knowing it was a pre-order (I take responsibility, but it wasn't obvious on site) and want to make sure its on track.

I did get an email that said it could be early 4th week. But that was after an email saying early 3rd week.

We are just over 14 days into July (2 weeks). At this time ASUS has stated the 3rd week to the end of the month. This can always change based on ASUS updating their ETA.

not trying to be a jerk here (I'm just a natural, I don't have to try) but third week I thought meant the third week (sunday-saturday, calendar week). I guess it meant the third week as in the third period of 7 days.

So we are just entering the third week then. And Asus I suppose just updated you guys third week till end of the month.

Not XoticPC's fault, but it stinks that Asus would tell you third week and then in the third week tell you, ok, maybe later. I'm considering canceling my order and ordering a Sager from you guys.

I understand your point. Unfortunately it could be later. As other can chime in with the W90's we there were a few delays before they came in. I can guarantee as soon as they come in we have some large orders in with ASUS and we are always treated with high priority.
