so anyway i got my new system and love it but can't install the device i want...im trying to install the sixaxis after disabling driver sigining in the bootup options...well the installlation works out fine and then windows tells me to restart the computer to complete the installation...when i restart the controller still dosent work...i check the device manager and i see this error next to the sixaxis controller

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

ive done the steps in order and correctly im sure of it...and ive reinstalled and tried multiple times...:(

i even tried a different driver on the same site (motionjoy.com)

i really want to use the ps3 controller as it is my favorite all time controller to use so any help would be GREATLY appreciated:(:(:(:(

Use this driver. This is the only one that I know works for sure.

Right click it and select run as administrator.

found my solution! for anyone trying to install a driver not digitally signed by microsoft on a 64 bit editon it will only work if your lower than service pack 2..microsoft continues to hotfix it so that only hardware they approve of works....man M$ ticks me off

You can disable the driver signing with a program called EasyBCD. It's one of the several advanced options that the program gives you. Perfect for me, since I tend to use modified beta video drivers from laptopvideo2go.com, obviously not digitally signed.

Works in Vista and Windows 7.
