:geek:Ive been out of the pc gaming scene for a little while and with all the new games out its a little overwhelming at what i should try..... i know i have the system for it...i would just like some recommendations as to games that you all think i might enjoy...any game suggestions are welcome..but if its a FPS...make it a good one...the FPS market seems pretty oversaturated...so? what game should i go for first

(no games that i have to subscribe 2)

BTW.... I LOVE RPG games.... i also love adventure games....pretty much anything that is story driven excites me...also any game that is fun with a second player is a bonus

(multiplayer in general is a bonus)

I'm not sure how long you have been outta touch so its hard to gauge how far back to go. One GREAT RPG would be Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic. Its an older game, but its star wars, and has an amazing storyline/plot. Its fun and addictive. The graphics arn't as demanding as current games, but the gameplay is definatly worth the experience (especially if you are even remotely interested in star wars)

Other fun games I've dabbled in include FABLE,Elders of the Scroll series (VERY non-linear to the point that I got lost and couldn't figure out how to finish the game. I think I killed someone that I souldn't have :p)

Diablo 3 should be out by christmas if I remember, that should take the cake for recent RPGs

not sure if your into real time stratagy games, but Supreme commander is worth noting in that arena. the graphics are great at close range and you can zoom out to full map seamlessly. really impressive. and not a bad storyline either(another thing noteworthy about this game is that it is one of the few games that will actually take advantage of the core i7 in your new puppy!)

Spore is kinda fun for some casual gaming, the scope of it makes it worth it. you go through 5 different game types in one game. pretty big scope. If you like sims type games, Sims 3 just came out within the last month. I haven't played it yet, but 1 & 2 were fun so 3 should be fun with better graphics :)

Those are a few of my suggestions. I'd love to hear what others are playing!

thank you for helping me out...any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Actually i did see a game that looked worth paying for subscription....final fantasy 11...its quite an older game...but so is WoW and was wondering if anyone had any strong opinions on it

Diablo 3 and Fable look like great choices...

Ive also heard unreal tournament was quite the game

Farcry2 and Fallout3 are very good fps / rpg type games. I like the open maps that let you explore, rather than just following one main story line.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - FPS (highly recommended)
Mass Effect - Action RPG
World in Conflict - Real time strategy
Fallout 3 - Role-playing

Those should be a few to get you going. I've played them all and they are all great games. I also play games mostly for the story line too :)

Oh, My favorite game that i played a while back was Assassin's Creed (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/assassinscreed/index.html?tag=result;title;3). This is a Historic Action Adventure RPG type of game. Definitely another one that you can add to your list :D

Hmm, I'm not an avid gamer, but I mess about once in a while and would like something new.
I like FPS, especially ones that you can make messes in like breaking windows and such. (I just put it on god mode and bang about).:D
I liked all the Wing Commander games too, but they don't run anymore...so sad.:(

Hmm, would CoD4 run well on my lappy? (See specs in sig)

You should be able to run COD4 on your notebook. You may have to run the settings on mediumish though. Try downloading the demo (http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/call-of-duty-4/call-of-duty-4-demo/533701) first and this will let you know how the game runs. If it runs good, then go buy the game and bang about! :D

Thanks Justin.:notworthy I can run the first and second CoD on high settings with no problem, but I hear CoD4 is a bit more demanding. I'll try the demo, good idea!:)

:wideeyed: Wow! I didn't think I would ever be able to play those games again!:wideeyed:
Will it allow my sound card and everything to work well? (I'm under the impression that it is also a firmware issue - the firmware being too powerful).
Are they easy to load and set up?
Can you recommend a good one to me?
