View Full Version : Wondering when my labtop will be shipped if at all.

I ordered a laptop on the 5th of July.
By July 6th my laptop was in phase 2 (building)
On July 7th I received a call telling me the processor I requested was no longer available. I then shovled out an extra $40 to get a processor that I didn't particularly want. But I still felt that I was getting a decent deal so I let it go.
It is now July 22 and I'm starting to wonder if this thing is ever going to actually come. I did not request any skinning and I'm not getting an OS installed. So I'm slightly puzzled as to what is taking so long.
I'd feel a little better about the whole thing if I was sent a small update to at least let me know what is taking so long.
I don't want to be rude, but honestly iv already decided if it's not shipped by Friday that I will probably just be asking for a refund. Your website claims 3-9 business days to build a laptop and were going on to day 13... and come Friday will be a full 14 business days.
If I'm mistaken please let me know. But right now I feel like im being played/screwed over and I don't like it.

I am sorry to hear. That is not one of the ones they talk a lot about here that do have delays. And from what you say it does sound like an update of some kind would be good from Xotic. When they read this post I am sure they will contact you as they do care about service. I don't know the reason so won't even speculate (failure to update). You could PM say, Justin W, I am sure he would respond back very fast with important info on your situation.
While at this point your issue is more than just not having received yet (other being lack of communication). I suspect MSI is having some kind of issue. I see your point would be nice to know what's up. Good luck. Hang in there I know Xotic will get on top of this as soon as they see.

I'm not terriblely angry or any thing, but if the laptop I'm buying isn't going to come for another month or two I'm going to feel obligated to make a change of plans. Which may include me just ordering a different laptop from xotic that is for sure in stock.

Hello Logic, I apologize if you have experienced a delay. If you can PM me your order information I would be happy to look into this for you and ensure this is handled properly for you. During the back to school season we are going through now, production unfortunately is a little backed up with the large amount of systems being built, tested and shipped daily. (just so you know why there there may be a delay on your order)

I'm not really sure what to think at this point. A friend that I refereed to xotic ordered an ASUS a week after I ordered my MSI. He received his laptop in less than two weeks of ordering and says its the best experience hes ever had with a laptop company. I apparently just got very unlucky but am happy that xotic didn't make me look like a fool for recommending them. I can understand if my order is taking a hell of a long time because of MSI's back order issues but at the same time it seems ridicules that xotic is still selling the laptop and that they were selling it in the first place.
I was told it would ship last Wednesday/last week and we are now looking at close to a month of being in phase 2. I'd like to keep as professional as possible about this whole situation but I'm starting get annoyed at the fact that nothing has gone well with this whole order.
What are my options at this point in terms of a refund, waiting for the laptop, or building some thing that you guys can actually get?
