I believe the official thread slated it for sometime in august. Im not completely sure when in August though.

They have informed us it isdue to a shortage of WUXGA Panels and they are having some QA Problems with the machine. Sorry to break the bad news.

Do we at least have an ETA? I noticed the details page no longer states one. I know its not your guys fault what are we looking at? 1-2 weeks? Months?

There is no confirmed ETA on the G71. We assume it will be around Middle August but have no confirmed Arrival Date from ASUS.

Seeing as how it's almost identical to the G51 except for screen size, I wonder what the hold up is? If they have the BIOS or heating issues that some theorize is the delay on one, then it should be worked out on the other. Same with the 260M backlog.

Unless they are selling more G51's and just want to get them out sooner. Just my luck.

I believe in an earlier post, Justin said that Asus may have a lack of 17" WUXGA panels, which could be cause for the hold up.

Any update on this laptop? Will we hopefully hear something this week? Or will this laptop simply come out when I finally throw in the towel and pick up an inferior and/or more expensive laptop? :P

I did back in June. Preorder if you're willing to wait till "whenever" for Asus to release it. Since we're hearing jack from anyone, if nothing happens by the end of the week I guess I'll look for another laptop. :confused:

yeah, you'd think ASUS would at least set a release date. i really want this, but i think i'd feel better waiting til it's actually out

We have G71GX's on the way in from ASUS. We will not get enough to fill all orders but we expect ASUS to receive another shipment next week. Customers getting a unit will be notified in the next 24-48 hours. :)

If you haven't ordered already you may want to get your order in. We just received word that we will be getting another shipment from ASUS tomorrow. We will have all orders filled and stock left over next week when the shipment arrives. :):):):) (While supplies last)
