Possible Lappy speaker solution?

This clips onto the lid of your lappy and plugs into USB for power and then you can take it off and fold it away when not in use according to the propaganda about it.:p
I have not heard one of these yet. I'm going to see if I can't demo one tomorrow.

Unfortunately, when I went to go check it out they had no way to demo it. So I did not get one because of the risk it could sound like the built-in speakers on a laptop only from a different direction.
So as it stands this could be a waste of $40 until I can find a way to demo them some place.
