GHOST BUSTERS!

OMG That game F***IN ROCKS!

Alright guys, this is my review of Ghostbusters The Video Game. As you may or may not know, (me having a sager is a hint) Im a video game junkie. I have a problem with replayablility on games, so Im always playing the latest and exciting games. And recently I played this game, and well, here is my review ;-)

Summary:
This game is NOT a copy off the plot of any of the movies, but more a continuation, based off the first movie, dealing primarily with Gozer the Detroyer. You play the role as a new silent recruit (name is Luke Hoss, but you are refered to as Rookie), who just joined The Ghostbusters. You begin investigating at a hotel, but get drawn into this crazy storyline, that becomes an epic adventure, encountering a huge amount of unique ghosts, locations, weapons, and characters.

Review (ranked on a scale of 0 to 10):

Storyline: 9.5
The storyline in the game is probably the best of any video game I have ever played, it truely makes you feel a part of the movies, and it is wrote by Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd. Its engaging, its fun, its scray, its funny, its exciting. Im going to try not to give much away, but you (the ghostbusters) are trying to find out why there is a sudden surge of ghosts throughout new york, and you travel to many locations. The story is constantly evolving, expanding, with everything having its own nooks and crannys. Also a great part of the storyline, is they use very reconizable things from the other movies (and real life new york), such as the Stay Puff Marshmellow Man, Gozer the Destroyer, Ecto-1, Slimer, the hotel, Central Park, The Painting of Vigo, the secretary and much more. And all the ghosts and monsters have their own story too, which is revealed by a scanning device you have. You can read about every characters history, what type and level of ghost they are, its really cool. There is also a bunch of hidden items in the game, to keep you snooping around too. The Cut Scenes in this game are fanominal too, they help tie the story together, and have some great acting. If you have seen and loved the movies, this storyline will blow you away

Acting: 10
All the original voices of the ghostbusters, the secretary, and a bunch of other charcters are used in this game. And not in some cheasy cropped way, but the real actors recorded a MASSIVE amount of dialouge, not only for the cut scenes, and triggered events, but also for just funny added in dialouge during fights, while walking, etc. I gotta say Bill Murray was hilarious in this game, classic acting. Also all the characters are modeled, not animated, but actual cgi versions of the actors, so it really looks like them!

Gameplay: 8.5
The gameplay is really easy to pickup in this game. It starts you out slow, only allowing you one weapon type, and slowly building you up to about 10 different weapons. This game is a 3rd person shooter, a game type im not often a fan of, but this game truely pulled it off. The game is very challenging at times, but not frusterating*(wait for note at the end). It is also pretty addictive, and very easy to pick up. You rarely find yourself bored, or unsure of what to do, everything is clear and fun. There is a few puzzle aspects, but noting to complicated. The fights and battles are really fun, and I truely feel the game mimics the what it would be like to be a ghost buster. Its cool too because there is team and solo fights, where your team can help/heal you, or solo fights to fend for yourself. Gameplay was about 10 hours long or so, so a tad short, but it felt long. Also it lacks multplayer, which they have on 360 and ps3, which was pretty lame.
*NOTE* I did encounter a glitch, that I wasnt to happy with. I got to a point where I could not move on, and was forced to redo that check point a few times, so the event trigger would start. Also there was one part I got to, where it was virtually impossible to move on. The NPC was being literally retarded in helping, and I had to use a hack to move on (trust me I read 3 guides and worked for 2 hours, it might have been another glitch). Now I know glitches happen, but they were bothersome

Sound and Video: 10
As i said before, the game has all original voice acting. On top of that, the musical accompanyment does a great job of keeping you in the proper mood for each part of the game. They also do a good job on transitions, which is hard to come by. Now for the video quality. The detail is great throughout the game, even things in a far off distance have a great amount of detail. Nothing looks pixelated or cheap. The enviorments are massive, larger than any game Ive seen, and very well done. The worlds are really well done, and really cool

Overall, this game rocks. I HIGHLY suggest it. GET IT NOW!
