Recently my NP9261 started acting up. At any moment Windows XP locks up - doesn't respond to Ctl-Alt-Delete, pointer won't move. As I work in a technical support organization, the first question I would ask a customer is "What changed?". In this case, I have to plead "I don't know" - no recent software installs, no errors in any of the Windows event logs, no Dr Watson errors, nothing. Sometimes it locks up even if I haven't been touching it for awhile, other times it is while I am working on something. About the only constant I've seen is if I move the monitor up or down even slightly, it is guaranteed to lock up.

I've tried:
- disabling power managed when plugged in (and it is always plugged in).
- turning off video hardware acceleration
- stopping unnecessary Windows services
- running CHKDSK, no bad disk sectors

The CPU is running fairly cool as I have left plenty of room for ventilation. The chance of a virus is pretty remote - I do not have an Internet connection and the laptop has never been on the Internet. I have copied files to the computer, so the chance of a virus is not quite 0%.

Any ideas of things I could try?
