We have a completed a video review for the Sager NP8760 (Clevo W870CU). Here is a video review for your enjoyment. We will be posting some benchmarks this week. The benchmarks should be nearly identical to the 8690 which has the same video card, just a larger screen.

Hey Justin! Do you think you guys could take a snapshot of it side by side with the NP8690? Just trying to get a feel for size difference. No hurry :D

umm.. did i miss the benchmarks? were they removed already for the 8760? i cant seem to find it anywhere in this post or in this forum..

also, comparing the 8690 and 8760 models, besides the OC feature which is available for the 8760, 2 HDDs instead of 1 HDD, and the 4 speakers+1subwoofer instead of 2 speakers in the , larger screen, are there any other differences in performance though it has been mentioned that they have the same chipset and GPU...

and regarding the differences in the LCD screens.. if i remember correctly for the 8690 its a AUO and the 8760.. (cant remember the name) can anyone who has seen the two screens give their opinion here as well?

i thank you in advance

you get the OC option if you take the i7 920XM CPU. So you can have that if you get the 8690 too.

i think someone mentioned here that the 8690 is not allowed to OC even with the 920xm chip.

Was reading Annandtech and this processor should rock. In games was only a bit slower than the DTR Sager i7 machine (I think it's the NP9880).

Only problem is Sager is a bit backordered on this laptop. I ordered mine theough Xotic on Nov 2, and just learned yesterday (11/10) its about two weeks out. Not their fault, just wish someone would have told me rather than me having to text and find out on-line in their chat.

I went with the 920XM processor, Can't wait to give it a go.

Overall impressions 7.5 out of 10.

Pros:
17" HD LED screen. I assure you there is no better laptop monitor out there. This one even beats out Mac book pro in brightness, color and detail.
Keyboard Layout. The spaced out keys makes it very easy to type.
I7 mobile processor: Not as good as the desktop version, but it's still pretty good. I was expecting to see more power saving here considering, but it doesn't seem to save much on battery life.
Nvidia 280 Graphics: Great for gaming.
Connectivity: All the right ports, only issue was the backdoor (but it was very easy to remove)

Cons:
Speakers: They don't get very loud, and have virtual no bass. Probably worst speakers Ive seen in a laptop. I dont really want to have to hook up or carry around extra speakers. If I can figure out a way to mod them I will.
AC Adapter: Would someone please explain to me that after all these years of mac's having a very tiny ac adapter that magnetically locks that other companies can't figure out how to do something similar. The AC adapter is definitely not easy to carry around and adds about 5lbs to your travel bag.
Fans: Can be loud, but they haven't reached annoying in my book.
Battery life: As I was stating earlier you would think this would last longer considering the i7 Mobile chip, LED screen, etc, but it seems to get the same battery life as the 9280, which actually contains the desktop i7. This system is definitely built to be a desktop replacement, but I'm almost thinking it would have been better to go with the 9280 so you could actually get all of the i7 power, since you have to keep it plugged in all the time anyway.
Webcam: Sucks (recommend the logitech Webcam 905, HD video and sound)

Overall the monitor makes this system shine. I seriously love looking at this thing and the i7 mobile does take care of everything fairly nicely. Now if I could just find a smaller ac adapter and some better speakers I'd be set. Any recommendations?

Oh and for all those considering to buy, xoticpc is the way to go. The cash discount is great, but the customer service is what sales it. You gotta problem they solve it quick.
