Asus g72gx-a1

I recently ordered the ASUS G72GX-A1. I see that the ETA has changed to "middle December." Is this somewhat firm or is it still just a guess? I guess what I'm asking is has ASUS communicated anything that makes this date more reliable than the previous "late November" date?

While I still haven't ordered my G72gx-A1 yet, I was wondering when they are expected to arrive because I have seen some January 4th expected arrival dates on other sites. and if not approximately how long will it take from ordering to delivery since I am going to be heading back to school on the 9th of January and wont be able to receive any shipments.
