The official SP1 pack for Vista operating systems is now available for download. Happy to say that I have already updated, and have no problems :D (Note installation may take up to 30 min). Download it today.

Yup, I updated also. About 45 some minutes. No problems to report on my 9262 running Ultimate 64bit.

TraNceD.gURL! Thanks for the update on good news w/ the 64-bit system...mine arrives on Tuesday or Wednesday!
OCG! Thanks for the direct link! Do you think, if my system does NOT have SP1 on it, that Windows Update will pick it up? W/ new systems or upon a rebuild, I always run windows update until NOTHING shows up first and then I install virus protection/spyware programs that are free from the University here. I do this before installing any software at all...
later and thanks!
pat!

Apparently there was a problem with SP1 not showing up on windows update. I don't know if it has been fixed yet, but if it doesn't show up on yours, then use the direct link  . I think the update only shows considerable improvement for low RAM systems, but Vista has been less of a hog lately (not that it was ever a problem for me).

Hmmm. I thought I got mine through Windows Update... then again, I wasn't really paying attention either....

I also got it via Windows Update
everything peachy, haven't installed new drivers yet
I hope there is a driver update that brings more power management options to the 8800m, I think that's the only thing missing in the chain of battery life improvements SP1 brings.

Look to a new laptopvideo2go driver to improve the GPU effiecency.... if they can make one compatible with the 8800M

Yup, that site was my only choice regarding drivers for my old 6800M... disappointing to have to go there again to unlock all the features my 8800M is supposed to have.

Vista Ultimate supports hardware made for Windows XP Media Center edition so if you have a tv tuner you can benefit. The dreamscene content is kinda cool but often times crashes. There are other enhancements so it depends on the user whether they want those goodies.
