For those that read here on the forums we will be updating customers in the coming days with updates on their orders. We expect to fill a good amount of our open orders for this model with the recent shipments that arrived at ASUS this week. Keep in mind we have to wait for the shipments to arrive and the units have to go through production. We expect to have most of the orders shipping within 5-9 business days of the shipment arriving at our location from ASUS.

Guys, can somebody tell me, whats happening with delivery of ic7 820QM, I have this notebook in phase one over month, I'm waiting for this processor right now. Somebody from xoticpc told me, that it has been delivered one week ago, but still nothing. Btw ETA was 1-2 weeks, this is third week now.

So what happened with the original G51J-A1? All I see on the Xotic site now is the A1X with a single HD and 6GB of RAM. The A1 seems to have disappeared from the market as fast as it arrived. Did I miss a thread somewhere?

The Asus G51J-A1 was discontinued and replaced by the new model which is the Asus G51JX-A1. The G51JX-A1 has a new video card, more memory that's upgradeable to 16gb, and one internal HDD bay. You can view this new model here (http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g51jxa1-order-p-2724.html).
Hi
your customization page says that the jx comes with the gts360m
but some googling reveals its a downclocked gt240
so is this the actual graphics card the new laptop is getting?
If this is true, I hope the G51-J would be back
cause I ain't gonna buy a rebranded gpu

We won't know the level of performance that the GTS 360m will provide until this model is in stock and we've been able to run some benchmarks on it. Once we have the benchmark results, you can be sure that we'll post the results on the Xotic PC forums. :)

Less SP's and lower core clock than GTX260m. Faster RAM 1000Mhz GDDR5 effective 4000Mhz vs 950Mhz effective 1900Mhz GDDR3 but the 260m has 256bit bus vs 128bit? The 280m has a bandwidth of 60.8GB's 360m has 64GB bandwidth. I see them as being the same but 360 will have less thermal stress. There is no way I see the 360m being substantially better than 260 as it has lower core less shaders and only 3.2GB more bandwidth. I think doing as well as the 260m would be good. Oh and I am not talking the crippled Asus 260m here. It will beat that if it is not likewise underclocked.
check wikipedia, it's an underclocked rebranded gpu

Not sure your point? It is a die shrink. And on this Asus GDDR5 vs GDDR3 on the others with 260m.
But yea the main benifit will be if Asus does not have to UC then it could beat the Asus 260m.
really?
wikipedia didn't mention it was a die shrink
However, this card is a rebrand of one of Nvidia's older models and not based on the newer Fermi architecture.

OK I might of got it wrong again? So much renaming rebranding this that and the other. Sometimes trying to make a living I miss these little things. I was comparing to GTX260m (not a good idea?) 55nm to GTS360m 40nm. GDDR3 vs GDDR5? What notebooks we are talking about have the GTS260m? See why not really in discussion. If you find a HP or Toshiba with is it GDDR5? If not then GDDR5 brings something to the table.
Your points are valid and I certainly do not have the time to know all GPU's offered. That said on what was offered in the view of us on this site by the same MFG are/were the GTX260m 55nm UC GDDR3 vs GTS360m 40nm (UC?) GDDR5. What does that mean? I don't know but those are the two relevant samples I have. I am waiting to see how both heat and GDDR5 make this compare.
If you can find a GTS260m link and what type of memory? I use wiki for reference but I never even consider GPU's I am not aware of in actual units. Your link to wiki is not really saying much other than the 310?
Anyway keep asking as you keep me honest on the facts and my mistakes but? We will see.

"just a 40nm version of 9800M GT instead with GDDR5"
WHAT?
