I have a Sager NP2092 that I purchased in February 2008 from XoticPC. It has been great, however, I've been putting up with a really annoying ticking/clicking sound in the fan for awhile now. I've cleaned the fan out multiple times but this hasn't helped at all. I'm not talking about a loud fan from heat or whirring from dust. I could totally deal with that and understand that laptops produce heat. It's more like the fan is actually broken internally and the sound is starting to make me crazy.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Where can I get a replacement fan? I've tried searching the internet for one and am having a heck of a time. Thanks.

It would have been better to post this in the tech support section as it would have been noticed more.
Anyway, this doesn't sound good. It could be that the blades are slightly hitting up against something although I don't see how the fan or anything else would have shifted to cause that.
How are your temps? Have you noticed anything getting hotter than normal?
If the fan has a broken blade or is not functioning correctly I would replace it or more appropiately, have it replaced as I don't know where one can get fans for laptops by themselves. (I checked Newegg and they have nothing like that).
Perhaps you might want to call tech support or XoticPC and perhaps they can steer you in the right direction.

Thanks for your response Anewbus. I guess the description for this section, "discuss Model Specific issues, topics and fixes," looked appropriate to me at the time, but I see your point.
Looking at the fan and spinning the blades around, there doesn't seem to be anything visibly broken. I'm guessing either the internal mechanism has shifted a bit or the casing around the fan has warped. It hasn't affected the cooling abilities of the computer but it is massively annoying, like a dripping faucet you can't turn off.
Anyway, I contacted XoticPC support and they offered to sell me a replacement fan, so I think I'm set and much appreciation to them for their great service. Still, it surprised me that this part wasn't readily available on the internet with a little Google work.
Thanks again.

Your welcome. XoticPC is one of a kind! You won't get that kind of service anywhere else! Glad they could help you.
