Ok so i just registered on the forums and i received this PM this morning.

Yeah I have been getting a bunch too, they are quite annoying. I fixed the problem on a website I run, but was using PHPBB, I just changed the default page code and wording and removed "Register" since most of the spam bots auto create off that word, and just made it say "Sign Up" instead, the worst part was going through the html/php code to remove the reference tag to be "signup" instead.

I think they are targetting people who are active in this forums, because I have not gotten any of those e-mails.

i think any user banned for message spamming should also have their messages deleted. i hate getting an email and come on here to check it out, only to find that some spammer is just wasting my time.
