We have told you earlier that Nvidia is preparing 55nm GPUs against current ATi's offerings like RV670, RV635, RV620 as well as RV770. VR-Zone has managed to find out Nvidia is planning a GeForce 9800M GTS refresh codenamed NB9E-GT1 and a new GeForce 9800M GT codenamed NB9E-GS1 based on 55nm G94b architecture. Both GeForce 9800M GTS and 9800M GT have 1GB of GDDR3 memories onboard. Interestingly, the GeForce 9650M GT codenamed NB9P-GT is actually a 55nm G96b.

That's great news :D . It should be a while before they hit the market though. 1GB of GDDR3 Memory will allow a single card to cut through Crysis like butter.

Am 22. Juni führt Intel eine Ladung neuer 35-W-Chips ein. Sie sind für den Desktop deklariert, werden aber eher in Gaming-Notebooks zu finden sein.

Die neuen Prozessoren ersetzen X9000, X7900 und eine Menge Chips der T-Serie aus der Palette von 7xxx bis 9xxx. Neu im Juni sind X9100@3,06 GHz, T9600@2,80, P9500@2,53, T9400 ebenfalls @2,53, P8600@2,40 sowie der bescheidene P8400@2,26. Die beiden letzten haben einen Cache mit 3 MB, alle anderen mit 6 MB. Und alle verfügen über FSB1066.

Sie kosten jeweils 851 $, 530 $, 348 $, 316 $, 241 $ und 209 $ - wenn man genug davon abnimmt, um eine Serie von Notebooks zu bauen. Es fällt auf, dass die Preise ziemlich genau denen der FSB800-Teilen entsprechen, die sie ersetzen.

Irgendwann im dritten Quartal folgt der QX9300, der sich über dem X9100 ansiedelt und das Zeitalter der Quad-Core-Notebooks einläutet. Die Tatsache, dass Intel einen Vierkerner mit 2,53 GHz und 12 MB in 35 W liefern kann - und nicht in 45 W, wie einige behauptet haben - ist durchaus erstaunlich. Und das hat einen stolzen Preis von 1038 $.

Diese Chips finden Eingang in die neue Klasse der XTReeM-Gaming-Notebooks.

the most interesting part is that intel will give us a real quad core with the qx9300 with just 35 w in the 3rd quader this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its still too early to care about quad core CPU's imo. maybr by 2010 games will start supporting multi cores, but by then the 2008 quad cores are going to be weak compared to the 2010 quad cores. So like I said, still to early to care.

But i'm glad to hear about the new GPU's. I wonder how much of a performance gain they will have over the 8800m GTX.

well farcry 2 has a multi core support! but still in games is the gpu more important!
