According to the user manual that came with the computer I should be able to restore it to factory settings by pressing f9 when the computer boots. This doesn't work, as none of the options that I'm supposed to see appear when I do this.

There appears to be restore data on the hard drive but I still haven't managed to figure out how to perform a factory reset.

Can anyone help me here? How do you do this?

Did it come with backup discs or did you make any? Having those inside the CD drive when it loads up should bring it up automatically.

Unfortunately, no. I don't. I saw that when I ordered the computer that it was supposed to come with a recovery partition and assumed that that would be all I needed. But I can't figure out how to access it.

Not well versed with all of this so hoping one of the others will pop in soon. You should still be able to make the backup discs yourself assuming that nothing is extremely wrong with your computer now.

Well, I just tried running the AI Recovery Burner just to see what would happen, and it says that apparently I don't even have a recovery partition. So maybe there was a goof up when my computer was processed?

Hmmmmm, no idea then. Someone else will have to chime in on this situation. Sorry I couldn't help more.

In windows you should be able to make a disc. Go to the control panel and there go to system and security/back up your computer/create a system image and or system repair disc. and follow the prompts
