Hi I bought my np9260 from XoticPC August last year (I live in the UK).

This means it is pre-Quadcore tech (I have E6700 core duo), Pre- 8800GTX (I have x2 7950GTXs), and pre-Penryn (not sure if it's out yet).

(1) Would it be possible for me to upgrade at some point to either/and both techs? Or is there a trade-in option?

(2) I know an upgrade would require a motherboard change to whatever the latest broad revision is at the moment. If this is possible would my E6700 processor and 7950GTXs graphics card work on the new board*?

(3) If any of the above is possible could I upgrade it myself or would I have to send my laptop to XoticPC?

(4) If an upgrade is viable can you give me a ball-park figure of how much it would cost (including shipping and components if my mine are incompatible with the new board)?

I don't have an upgrade policy/warranty.

* I would upgrade one or both later

Thanks

You can upgrade your 9260 to the newer style motherboard in the 9262. The option can be found here (http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-specific-accessories-sager-np9260-9261-9262-c-95_51_145_198_227_228.html)and you would need to choose: nVidia GeForce 8800GTX 512MB DDR3 - FULL SWAP OUT (Upgrade your 9260/9261)
• Price good between Jan 15th’08 through June 30th’08 • New revision D06 (Ver. 6.x) motherboard • 1x nVIDIA® GeForce™ 8800M GTX w/512MB Card • Labor included $745.00 for additional nVIDIA® GeForce™ 8800M GTX w/512MB Card

Thanks for the info.

Would that mean my E6700 processor would be put on the new board? Also would I get my old board back?

Thanks
