General Questions

1) What is your budget?
Anything under $1400cdn is fine(a bit more if needed)

2) What size notebook would you prefer? c. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

3) Please select your country's flag as a post icon and tell us what country are you buying this in. - CANADA cant see the flags yet

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
needs to be really reliable(Asus seems to have a good warranty, plus zero dead pixels)

5) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
light gaming. Using Creative Suite 3(and cs4 when it comes out) mostly flash/dreamweaver/photoshop. And using MySql, Access, Oracle, Visual Studios.

6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?

Traveling a bit(hope to get this before August 16th when i go to british colombia) but mostly around the house.

7) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
Counter strike:source, warcraft 3, maybe some newer rts. Oh Spores! when it comes out...diablo 3 as well (heard it probably wont be demanding)

8) How many hours of battery life do you need?
At least 2.5ish, but higher is always better

9) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
nope

10) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
Vista 64 bit

Screen Specifics

11) Would you prefer standard or widescreen?
I prefer widescreen, at least not a square screen

12) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer? (more details below)
Widescreen
d. WXGA or WXGA+ 1440x900; Wider viewing version of XGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
e. WSXGA+ - 1680x1050; Wider viewing version of SXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.


13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non glossy screen?
What ever is better for my design of work/light gaming. (doesn't really matter)

Build Quality and Design

14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
a bit

15) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?
Buying it within the next two weeks. I want it to last for at least 2-3 years

Notebook Components

16) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 500GB?
200-320 is enough

17) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?

CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner is fine. Won't be watching too many movies

One more question about shipping. I am going to be shipping to the toronto area. and my options are.
Canada UPS Ground - 3-6 days with normal customs clearing for $57.00. Does this cover the brokerage fee? because the other option is canada express ups, which states there is no brokerage fee(for $110). as the first one did not state this. thanks
