Judging by the requirements this should be enough to run it perfectly.

It has a nice price tag:p and you can always lower the cpu and ram if you want it cheaper or increase it. Either way this is a good laptop for your requirements. If you want something a little more powerful check out the 7680.

I encourage you to also to talk to Justin or one of the folks at XoticPC, they will help you get exactly what you need and tell you what works and what won't for your needs.
Give them a call on the phone if you like or you can just communicate via computer.
Believe me they will be all too glad to help answer every question you have and make recommendations and let you decide what you want to do.

Don't be nervous about purchasing from XoticPC. You get the best service in the industry, you get a custom well made lappy to your specs, (not slapped together and shipped), you get very reasonable prices for what you get, (much better than off the shelves in the stores) and on top of all that, the best warranty around with FREE 24/7 domestic tech support for the life of your machine!

I was going to go store-bought at first and then someone had me come here to XoticPC. I was sceptical at first, but after a month of talking with them even though I was a couple months away from getting enough $ for a lappy, they asnwered every question and still do. They are super nice and zero pressure and well, their customer service speaks for itself. I have ordered a lappy from them which is in the Art department right now, but will soon get ready to ship. (I'm in no hurry).
I am sure I will be very pleasantly surprised, if not blown away when it arrives and I get my first look at it as most everyone else has.

If you want more encouragement, click on the "Resellers rating" link on the sight and read some customer comments. Also read the article about "who really makes laptops". Both are very educational and encouraging.
The comments on the "Reseller site" are real and not faked at all. (I can tell when reviews are faked, I've been working in them and doing them for a long time). The comments there are from real folks who have purchased from XoticPC. (I read them myself long before I ordered and its amazing what foks say about the experience of purchasing their lappys from XoticPC.

Almost any laptop offered here can run sims 2 perfectly; without a doubt. Depending on your budget, I would recommend the new NP8660.

Prepare yourself for a pleasurable customer service experience, pre,mid and post sales like you have never experienced before! :) No kidding, the folks at XoticPC are one of a kind. They genuinely care. Whatever lappy you pick and customize, you will be getting a machine that will out perform nearly anything on the shelves at Best Buy and especially Circuit City. (I've noticed Circuit City is still trying to sell computers that are 2 to 3 years ago)! The real sweet spot though with XoticPC is along with the great service and quality lappys custom built for you, is the warranties. You won't find a warranty like these at those two stores or many other places for that matter. You also won't find this type of service at Best Buy or Circuit City. Plus XoticPC makes sure your lappy is in perfect order before they ship it. Unlike the store you just go grab and take your chances. Then if something is wrong its a nightmare maze to get it taken care of. (Ever read the fine print in those store gaurantees? Once you open the lid on a lappy, your pretty much out of luck and yet that's the only way to check it out. Makes no sense).
I should know, I was going to go get a Toshiba at Best Buy when somebody told me to check out XoticPC before I did that. To think I could have ended up with a less powerful lappy with inferior parts and only a limited one year warranty and zero tech support! Not to mention a machine that could well give up the ghost in one year. I tremble to think of paying $900 for that. So I waited and saved up a bit more and now I'm getting a real lappy. A lappy one can be proud to own. Lappys get lots of love here at XoticPC and go to loving homes. :)

"XoticPC is the way to go"! :)

Hey guys.. I'm looking at the Sager NP8660 and really loving it. Does anyone recommend it? Do you think I can have Windows XP instead of Vista?

Of course you can. :) Have you clicked on the customize button yet? You can go in and see all the things you can change or leave as they are. When you go into the customize area just choose XP under the Operating System section. Let us know if you need any help. :)

Depends on how much RAM your going to be using (Vista is required with 8GB of RAM, which I doubt anyone will buy =/). Also some processors won't work with 4GB of RAM and XP.

If you haven't bought the laptop yet, try to make sure and get a P#### processor over the T####, due to their lower power consumption.
