Hi, I was wondering the pros/cons of the WXGA (1280x800) and WSXGA+ (1680x1050) Glossy Type Display. I heard that on a ~15 in. screen 1680x1050 may not be a good idea. Not really sure... just wanted to find out some more information. Thanks.

If it helps, I have a 22 inch external that runs on 1680x1050 and I think it's perfect. I have a 15.4 inch laptop right beside it and I can't imagine having that resolution on a 15 inch laptop.

I've seen a 1920x1200 (not sure if i got the exact resolution correct) on my friend's 17 inch laptop and it looked really tiny as well. If you need to use spreadsheets, I think it's better just to buy an external for $200 or so unless you're really on the go.

Hmm, well, I'm getting a Force3298v2 and it has a 15.4 screen WSXGA+ at 1680x1050 res and I would think that is fine. If it didn't work, why would it be sold that way? My eye-sight is pretty poor and so I won't be looking at the 15 inch screen in any resolution much anyway. (I'm going to use an external monitor too). Also, one can always turn down the resolution to 1280x800 or 800x600 or whatever is supported.

Is the OP referring to the size of the icons and all of that if the resolution was higher?? I'm thinking this shouldn't be a problem with gaming, but with doing work, maybe, as said below, just turn the resolution down if its a problem?
