  • Help with Desktop Build

I previously got a great laptop from xoticpc so now I'm back to replace an old desktop. Budget is $2,500 max.

Tasks that will be performed with this desktop will primarily include internet browsing, streaming (multitasking) and playing games (WOW, Diablo, Overwatch).

I would like to have both a SSD and HDD drive in this desktop. I don't know if a certain drive should be placed in a certain bay. I would like to make sure the desktop has a good cooling system.

My brother and I went through some options for the Executioner- Intel Z170 and came up with the build below. The build is a little over the budget $2,500 but I think we can downgrade on some of the options. We do not have any experience in building a PC so I would greatly appreciate some advice from those who do.

    Thanks! EXECUTIONER - INTEL Z170 - VR

A couple things you can downgrade without sacrificing much:

    1. The power supply - you definitely do not need 1300 Watts for this build.

    2. Get a GTX 1060 GPU instead, they are cheaper and just as fast.

Other than that, the build looks great!

Both SSD and HDD drive in the desktop is a great decision. install OS on SSD. Build looks great!
