I know xotic along with several other resellers only offer the unit with up to a t7700 processor. I'm a bit curious though how some other resellers mostly EU resellers are able to offer a x7900 processor. Is there something special they are doing to allow this or are they taking a big risk with something thats not supported?

They are taking a big risk. Installing a processor into a system that does not support it can not only short the life of the computer, but also possibly cause it to be unstable and fry the internal components. The T7700 is the fastest processor that is supported at this time.

I recall seeing a faster unit of the same mobile series set at 2.6 or 2.8 GHz somewhere.... but it was hella expensive.

From the research that I did before buying my NP5792, It seems as if intel abandoned the T7800 and T7900 for the X7800 and X7900 sometime around Q3 '07 . Maybe (I'm hoping) I am wrong about this, but I have seen no new info on these processors since that time, and the X series was released on the proposed T series release date. That is what I noticed researching a new laptop.

I think if you have a dual-core 2,0-2,4Gghz CPU and a good 512mb GPU-card on a laptop, it gonna preform the newest aplications and games well. :P
