The XoticPC site lists the video card as user-upgradeable. My question is whether/where it would be possible for someone to buy a laptop graphics card independent of an actual laptop? Like if I order one with an FX 1600m and later say oh I don't really need this as much as I thought I did I'd like to replace it with an 8800, where would I go about buying an 8800m? Would I be able to order that from XoticPC, is there some other site I can go to?

Some laptops are MXM compatible. The MXM slot is the closest thing to a standard we have for laptop / compact video cards.
http://mxm-upgrade.com/ is my favorite site for information on MXM cards and it referred me to Sager as a maker of MXM video cards
